Great Science Share 2021
Posted 25th June 2021
On Tuesday 15th June, Austhorpe Primary School were excited to be part of The Great Science Share 2021 for the first time.
The Great Science Share for Schools is the award-winning campaign that invites 5-14 year olds to share their own scientific questions and investigations, to raise the profile of science in schools and communities, and inspire young people into science and engineering.
Austhorpe children love their science lessons and this year, with our journey towards gaining the prestigious PSQM, the whole school community have pulled together to raise the status of science and develop science teaching and learning throughout our school. The Great Science Share was just one of the ways that helped us to do this.
During the week prior to the event, every class created a video of an aspect of their science learning. Videos were shared with parents and carers on Teams and via Twitter and then uploaded to The Great Science Share website.
Organisers of The Great Science Share then celebrated in style, revealing that over 211, 000 children had shared their science with them. They released a video compilation of clips from those that had been uploaded to the site and Austhorpe were thrilled to spot and count the numerous times that we appeared in this celebratory video.
